In addition to serving as a leading center of knowledge and expertise in our practice areas, the Urban Institute Center on International Development and Governance (IDG) is a respected project manager and implementer of international development projects around the world. Supported by the administrative and financial management systems of the Urban Institute, IDG typically manages an annual project portfolio of over US$ 20 million per year. In addition to UI’s headquarters in Washington DC, UI currently has project experts or country offices in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Rwanda and Uganda.
Through our project activities, IDG provides technical assistance, capacity building support and project management services to urban and rural communities, civil society organizations and NGOs, national and local governments, and international development organizations in countries around the world.
